“Torchwood: outside the government, beyond the police. Fighting for the future on behalf of the human race. The 21st Century is when everything changes -- and Torchwood is ready.”

Torchwood was not ready for the 456. They thought they were, but they were wrong, almost dead wrong. The Doctor saved them in the nick of time. His blue police box arrived right in the middle of Captain Jack’s speech to the 456, and he took it from there. Not wanting anything to happen to Ianto, Jack pushed him into the TARDIS. The Doctor made short work of the 456, and left without a word, leaving Ianto and Jack staring at an empty space were the TARDIS had just been – both wishing they could say something but the words wouldn’t come, and one of the people they wanted to speak too had just left.[/url][/blockquote]
Jack, Ianto, and Gwen started to rebuild the Hub, glad that the government was not trying to kill them anymore. Gwen was forbidden to do any field work for the duration of her pregnancy; Jack didn’t want anything to happen to her baby. Torchwood was still a few members short though, and with Gwen not being allowed to do as much, they needed to find new members, and fast. Aliens were coming through the rift right and left, and they couldn’t keep up with it. on one of their missions they ran into someone, someone who knew about aliens and time travel, a Time Agent – Severina Sleight. Jack was reluctant to let her join, he knew her from the Time Agency and knew that she could have a bit of a temper and be a little trigger happy sometimes, but he mainly just didn’t want a Time Agent to work for him. In the end, his need of another team member made him cave, and Severina became the newest member of Torchwood. Until they found replacements for Tosh and Owen that is.
Meanwhile, The Doctor had problems of his own; The Time Lords were trying to come back. The Doctor stopped them though, and sent them all back from where they had come. Or so he thought, a few of them had escaped and lingered behind on Earth, unknown to the Doctor. That wasn’t his only problem though; he had to save Wilfred Mott, thankfully his sonic screwdriver got him out, otherwise The Doctor would have been the one to die.
Now, The Doctor has realized how the rift activity in Cardiff has spiked up, seriously spiked up, and has come to help Torchwood with whatever is approaching. He’s not the only one though, Rose and the Meta-Crisis Doctor found their way back into this universe. They all know something big is going to happen, and soon, but no one seems to know what it is, or if they are even prepared for it. All they know, is that it’s going to be a fight against time.
